Are there any consumer ratings of online investment advisers? Such as Motley Fool and Green stocks?

    Not exactly. Several of the magazines will do comparison articles from time to time, but not perhaps to the degree of exactness you're talking about.

    Check back issues of Barron's and SmartMoney at your library.

    I've never seen any, but I stick with pretty commonly known names. And I remember it for what it is - advice. It is not the gospel truth it is one person's opinion. Another way is to read someone's advice and follow it for a few months. If everything they say turns out wrong then I'm not sure I'd put much faith in them. But if they seem to be right most the time and can back it up with a solid reason why they did what they did then you might have someone worth listening to.
