Does refrigerating Green Tea help keeps its antioxidants power or decrease it?
Love iced green tea and was wondering if i should keep my pitcher of green tea at room temp or in the fridge. prefer refrigerated but am wondering if the antioxidant power would be kept or lost more quickly compared to room temp tea….

As long as it doesn’t sit in the fridge for too long, the antioxidant levels should not decrease significantly. Wouldn’t want to keep a pitcher at room temp as green tea will form mold if left out.

It does not make a difference. Just don’t go too long without drinking it.

This isn’t really an answer, sadly, but this is funny because i love it too, just made some, and was wondering the same thing!!! kudos to you to try and find out. =)

It doesn’t matter. All that’s important is that if you make it, let the boiled water cool for a bit before soaking the tea bags. If the water is too hot it can kill some the benefits of green tea.

Refrigerating food or drink, usually kept the stagnan or existing situation or condition the food has. in this case, green tea. But Dont over refrigrate it. Some change might occur to the tea chemical structure , and the taste is change , the substance as well. But i couldnt inform you if the antioxidant is less or not.
