Green stocks?

I know very little about investing but I have a good feeling that investing in green companies. I can't help but think that wind energy is going to be the next Micosoft. I want to get in on the ground floor or at least the 2nd or 3rd floor. There are wind farms poping up everywhere. Can anyone direct me to some publicly traded companies like this? I really need to here from people who have some knowledge about this.

    PowerShares WilderHill Clean Energy (PBW), an Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) that invests at least 80% in companies engaged in the business of advancing clean, green energy.

    Lots of solar companies have been booming lately…. probably a better bet than wind.
