I’m guessing its actually red…and it isn’t a power supply issue. You need to call Microsoft and have them ship you a box to return the XBox for repair…it will be done for free but you will have to wait 1-2 months to get it back.

If the color is red you have a major problem! Three red lights on the Xbox 360 indicator(the power circle)representing general hardware failure, known by gamers as the infamous "Red Ring of Death". The best way to fix this is to contact Microsoft and they will fix the problem. Due to a massive number of troubled xboxs, they offer a warranty.DO NOT OPEN IT UP AND TRY TO FIX IT YOURSELF! This will void your warranty!
My friend found some useful info on wikipedia when his 360 had the red rings of death.

no i think he means orange just like he said. I have the same problem. My first 360 had the ring of death. This time its no ring of death. My 360 kept losing power until it wouldnt turn back on. Now I have a power supply that has an orange light on it… not red and not green.
