I want to be ‘Green’ how can I start?
I drive a car that sips intstead of guzzles, and I changed the light bulbs in my house, is there anything else I could do that could help save energy reduce global warming?

The best we can do as individuals is be more responsible ,in our own neck of the woods
Organise well publicized clean up parties ,talk on the radio
Have citizan meetings
Get the shools involved to plant trees and listen to environmental awareness talks,
If you do any cleaning up leave signs behind saying who cleaned, why and ask people not to start dumping rubbish again ,leave a hole or bins ,in case people come with trash ,
POSITIVE ACTIONS)
Classify trash take out all the organic waste and make compost with it ,the worst you can do is throw it with the trash
70% of contamination is due to organic waste that is mixed in with the garbage .
And it is just as bad in the sewer where it helps to breed rats and in the landfill it poisons the ground
And it is the easiest to take care of
o first of all we have to classify trash at least keep the organic to one side ,like in a plastic bin with a lid
If you got a few meters of ground ,you only need 1 or 2 square meters in a shallow hole ,in the shade ,that you can wet now and again ,where you dump everything that is organic ,from toilet paper, bones vegetable cuttings ,eggshells,,,excrement ,and cover regularly with leaves to keep humid and to hide any smell
the worms will come and decompose the wastes turning it into beautiful black soil for the garden of flower pots .
If you are in a apartment ,if you have a balcony get a big plastic bin drill some holes in the side and lid ,
Add a few buckets of sand now and again to put over the trash ,you should realt stir or move the stuff at times to airate it and ensure that the decomposition is overall ,keep moist
This rubbish does not get big very fast and the thing works for a long time with out getting full

If you want to help the planet ,plant a tree every week ,if everyone on the planet did we we would be able to slowdown the destructive processes
Reduce carbon emissions, and they are already working on that by alternative forms of energy and regulations on carbon producing materials, aerosol cans, burning rubbish, industrial chimneys, power plants etc.
Water harvesting projects ,such as millions of small dams.to redirect over ground water flows from the rains into the ground to supply sub terranien water supplies.
The protection of existing forests.
Stop building more highways, urban planning to include vegetation stop building cities encourage people to return to the land to conduct their business from there which now has become possible thanks to the internet.
Education to motivate people to auto sufficiency by building more home food gardens.
Education on environmental awareness
education on family planning to curb over´population
Agricultural education and improvements to follow the principals or sustainability and soil management.
More environmental or land ,design to prevent bush fires, such as–fire breaks
More dams.regulations and control for public behavior
Alternative efficiant public transport to discourage the use of the internal conbustion engine

Use organic fertilizer on your lawn. Gardens Alive makes a brand of fertilizer called Lawns Alive that makes causes your soil to build humus over time and truly have more life. Means your grass is greener and needs less water and you do not pollute with chemical fertilizer. Living things like Rabbits, etc, enjoy your yard more because there is better things to eat. I use this and my yard is also the nicest in the area. Very green. Global warming is a minor problem long term. Check out movie aconvenientfiction.com. What is needed now is to help the 18,000 kids who die of hunger every day in the world.

Go vegetarian. Livestock is a huge contributer to pollution and gases that supposedly cause global warming.

If you live in the country compost all the decomposable waste that you can–vegetable parings, rotten fruit, stuff that you would normally just let go to the dump. This is a good way to keep the anerobic bacteria in your topsoil fed as well as a good source of fertile soil for your gardening needs–also separate all the recyclables from your trash and periodically take them to the closest recycling facility–glass, plastics, metal cans, cardboard, you name it–most can be recycled . Also try to conserve your water use–showers use much less water than baths, and turn off lights, t.v.’s (and computers) when not in use .
And one more thing–get your car tuned regularly and keep your tires rotated and balanced–it prolongs the use of your tires–meaning less in the landfills and spares your gas mileage meaning less carbon-waste emission.
And lastly, thank you for choosing to go green.

You can’t reduce global warming!
The Earth has had ice ages, they were cooling periods, between them were warming periods. This has been going on for all of Earth’s 4 + - billion years. This all happened before any of the modern day technology came into being and will continue after we are gone.
The Earth is going through a pole shift right now. A pole shift is when the magnetic poles swap polarities. During pole shifts the magnetosphere is weaker and more of the Sun’s rays strike the Earth, this causes extra heating of the Earths surface, and makes global warming more pronounced.
These are natural cycles of the Earth. We puny stupid humans can no more stop or even reduce a natural cycle of the Earth, than the man in the moon. This is 9th grade science, and one would think that scientists and politicians would be better educated, but it seems that this not so, and they could remember 9th grade science class too.
This may just may be another smoke and mirrors propaganda campaign to cover our governments lies and con games. There are so many conspiracies running rampant it’s hard to tell which are real and which are just simple stupidity. The idea we can stop global warming IS stupidity at it’s highest form.
Call and email your elected officials!
Pollution free, fuel less elelctric power beyond Fusion is ready to be built. Our bought and paid for politicians don’t want their campaign contributors in big power to not be able to own my patent for a song.
So the government has snubbed pollution free, fuel less elelctric power. Every one in DC knows about this, it’s been everywhere, presidents{ Clinton and Bush}, vice-presidents Gore and Cheney}, speaker of the house {Newt Gingrich}, Bob Barr. They’re all just problem pimps!
Now I can’t even get a call back, much less someone else to do NOTHING!
What Can Be Patented
“ The patent law specifies the general field of subject matter that can be patented and the conditions under which a patent may be obtained.
In the language of the statute, any person who “invents or discovers any new and useful process, machine, manufacture, or composition of matter, or any new and useful improvement thereof, may obtain a patent,” subject to the conditions and requirements of the law. The word process is defined by as a process, act or method, and primarily includes industrial or technical processes. The term machine used in the statute needs no explanation. The term manufacture refers to articles that are made, and includes all manufactured articles. The term “composition of matter” relates to chemical compounds. These classes of subject matter taken together include practically everything that is made by man and the process for making the products.
The Atomic Energy Act of 1954 excludes the patenting of inventions useful solely in the utilization of special nuclear material or atomic energy in an atomic weapon 42 U.S.C.2181(a).
The patent law specifies that the subject matter must be “useful”. The term “useful” in this connection refers to the condition that the subject matter has a useful purpose and also includes operativeness, that is, a machine which will not operate to perform the intended purpose would not be called useful, and therefore would not be granted a patent.
Interpretations of the statute by the courts has defined the limits of the field of subject matter that can be patented, thus it has been held that the laws of nature, physical phenomena, and abstract Interpretations of the statute by the courts has defined the limits of the field of subject matter that can be patented, thus it has been held that the laws of nature, physical phenomena, and abstract ideas are not patentable subject matter.
A patent cannot be obtained upon a mere idea or suggestion. The patent is granted upon the new machine, manufacture, etc, as has been said, and not upon the idea or suggestion of a new machine. A complete description of the actual machine or subject matter for which a patent is sought is required.

reuse paper bags, plant more little trees in ur garden.
and when you go for take-aways, bring your own container for the food. in that way, the restaurant wont have to use paper bags/styrofoam containers.
after finishing your cans of cokes and pepsi, flatten them and collect it. when it reaches 1 or 2 kg, you can bring them to recyling centres(if you have one near by). some of them pay for these tin cans. not much tho. prolly a few bucks per kg.

Reduce the amount of driving you do. Try carpooling and bicycling as often as possible. Shop at farmers markets for locally grown produce instead of food that’s shipped in from hundreds, sometimes thousands, of miles away. Recycle. If you have a lawn, use an old fashioned push mower instead of a gas powered one. Replace old, inefficient appliances with energy efficient ones. Install ceiling fans, you’ll use the air conditioner a lot less.

I recently bought a few of those Kroger recycle reusable shopping bags, then the cashier overstuffed it and it tore, so I’m thinking of a basket instead! I reuse plastic storage bags but not the thin ones produce comes in and I try to make the best choice at the time. I think joining care2 is a fun website, you get to click vote on all sorts of save the planet stuff, green shopping and friends groups and more. http://www.care2.com

There are no limits on what you can do to help combat global warming!
- Look for energy saving dishwashers, water heaters, laundry machines
- Properly inflate your car tires, remove excess racks/ keep windows closed to reduce drag produced, which will help improve your fuel efficiency
- Unplug devices when not being used - computers use alot of electricity when they are on, shut them off overnight, even when some appliances are off, they still use electricity to power lights and fans, so unplug them when not using them
- Plant trees around your house to provide more shade
- Buy recycled products / recycle everything you can
- Buy less things
- If your electric company offers electricity off of a hydro electric dam or solar panels, pay the extra penny to use it
- Properly insulate your home
- Use a push lawnmower, try to abstain from using gas powered leaf blowers
- Invest in clean, renewable sources of energy
These are just a few of the hundreds of ways you can help combat global warming….

Renounce all technology and creature comforts and move into a shack without power and live like Ted Kaczinsky (the unabomber). If we all do this our expected life span will probably be reduced to about 35 years, but at least we could spend them in a beautiful utopia.

Hi,
here are my top 5 ways to cut your carbon (without having to give up everything you enjoy):
* Switch to a green energy supplier. Be careful on this one, there are some not-so-good companies out there but, if you get a good one (mentioning no names), you could cut around 1900kg of carbon a year.
* Recycle half of all your household waste. This may sound pretty easy but remember this includes all the waste you would throw out - clothes, furniture etc. However, if you can get into the habit of always recycling you can cut 1800kg of carbon a year.
* Get insulation. Making sure your house is properly insulated is a brilliant step to cutting carbon. Cavity wall insulation will save around 970kg and loft insulation will be another 800kg.
* Ditch your patio heater (or encourage others to get rid of theirs!): Patio heaters emit arount 800kg of carbon a year. Get rid of yours or encourage you friends, family or local pub to do the same.
* Be meat free every other day for a year. Going veggie is a brilliant way to cut carbon, but it can mean a lot of willpower. Just cutting out meat every other day will save 487kg of carbon.
I hope that helps. Doing all the above (or just a couple) will really make you very green!
