Is it true the grass on the green will move itself towards the sun?

In the movie Bagger Vance, Bagger says the grass on the green will move to which ever way the sun is in the sky making it tricky to read putts. I never thought about this and I don't know if this is true.

    Grass blades will tend to face the sun. However, the greatest influence is the contour of the green which is determining the drainage. The flow of water is greater than the draw of the sun.
