My computer monitor power button is blinking green, what does this mean?

Hello, I have a Dell Dimension computer and my Dell 15" monitor power button is blinking green. Everything sounds normal, but my screen is black and I can’t see my desktop and the power button is blinking green non-stop.

I shut-down my computer, but my monitor power button is still flashing green. When I press on the power button to turn it off, it still blinks green. The only way I can get it to stop is to remove the plug for the surge protector outlet.

What does this mean? Have any of you experienced this?

    The blinking green light indicates that your screen is in Stand By mode.

    Normally when you press it it should turn off and stop blinking. But it appears your power off/on button is broken?

    It’s not a big deal if your screen is on, but like.. You cant turn it off.. It would suck if you cant turn it back on.
