Is the sun heating up?

Is it possible that the planet is not really suffering from the green house effect rather the sun’s solar energy is increasing in temperature. The longer a fire burns, the hotter it’s temperature…I remember studying in school that stars eventually burn out…is "our" sun just going through cycles which we can’t really control and the "green" efforts on our part will not stop the green house effect - regardless??

Where can I apply for the position as the Green Power Ranger?

Suggested Category:
Cars & Transportation > Car Makes > Ford

Could this be a hint?

My tv won’t turn on, but the green power light will?

Yesterday my tv randomly turned off and now we can’t get it to turn on. The green power light will show, but the picture on the screen won’t come on. It’s not the cable box, that works. But the tv doesn’t. Please help me fix this! I don’t know what to do. Also please give me some suggestions to why this might be happening! Please & thank you(:

if hell is a real place, why can’t we harness the heat from it for our energy uses instead of using oil?

do ya think it would be less of a pollutant, or would all those burning souls let off even worse green house gases?
wasn’t sure if where this question should go… science & technology or here… but i figured here cuz it would be close to creationism, yes? and that doesn’t believe in science…

need help for chemistry! please help if you can!?

When light heats up a green house what type of energy do you start with & what energy do you end with?

Classify as an extensive property, intensive property, or chemical property:
fruit ferments to make alcohol
the specific heat of water is 4.18
the iron absorbs 39J of heat
photosynthesis
respiration

Why does water remain at a constant temperature at certain points even when heat is added?

I’ll appreciate any help & I will award 10 points!

Why is the green power light flickering on my GE chest freezer?

I have GE 7.0 Cu. Ft. Manual Defrost chest freezer.
I’ve recently noticed that the green power light on the bottom right corner of the freezer is "flickering"

Does anyone know why that is?
I looked in the trouble shooting guide and no info about it.

this is the freezer I have…

This light did NOT always do this. It just recently started flickering.
It is not hooked up to an extention cord or a powersaver cord or anything. it is plugged right into the wall.

when, and by how much, will uncle sam tax you for energy you do NOT use?

reading along, trying to get a grip on what legislation will pass the senate (cap & trade bill passed by the house of reps already at the urging of mr. obama, who refuses to consider offshore drilling for oil until our alternate energy is good enough…), i came across a news article about the state of missouri and how its governor is proudly announcing a new cost to consumers of energy in MO which, he claims, will end up costing missouri businesses and citizens less than what they will be charged… huh, you say? me too:

http://www.kansascity.com/news/politics/story/1307200.html

how is it that government gets away with making us pay more now and promises that we will recoup those costs in the future? have you ever had any new tax recouped to you? what was it, a tax credit? what good does a tax CREDIT do for you if you go broker every day?

how about the taxes charged on toll roads? that’s a great example! when toll roads were built, everyone paid a toll to use them, supposedly a temporary tax only until the road was finished. but the crooked politicians NEVER stopped, but they did increase, the amount of the tolls that were paid. the tolls are a TAX.

inflation, especially to those of you without a job, is also a TAX. now the governor of MO says that the new energy-conservation tax must be charged NOW and that it will get "recouped" back to businesses, which are going to have to lay more workers off because of the increase that they will pay to the utility companies. when the workers are laid off, how will the utility bills at home be paid?

politicians in DC are getting quite excited learning about the governor of missouri’s ideas to help utility company contain costs, but when our president took the oath, he told us that we’d have to wait 8 months to learn if offshore drilling for oil would be allowed, since, he said, he wants rigs (which take about 2 years each to build) to be powered entirely by alternate forms of energy themselves! i have not heard a peep out of obama lately or within the 8 weeks after he gained the office of president, about offshore oil drilling. huh! the chinese are drilling for it off of cuba, which is actually part of our own eastern continental shelf. oh, yeah, but they are communists (as though that makes any difference)…???

democrats in the house, who control the house, say that cap & trade will only cost the consumer about 0 a year, but republicans say that it will cost (initially) somewhere around 0 per year and more than that, since alternative energy forms and "green industry" is certainly NOT in place now. we really have a long way to go on that. so who cares if the united states becomes the *shining example* of countries that are ahead of the game of conventional energy consumption?

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/06/26/house-passes-milestone-energy-climate-change/

i say, who cares, since if these increased costs (taxes) are going to put you out of a job, how will the federal government pay for more research and implementation of this foreseen, but not yet concrete, plan to run entirely on the new green energy? if you are out of a job, you will not pay income taxes, will you? and won’t you cut back on what you spend in the general marketplace? so, it is another domino effect, just like when the housing bubble broke. do you realize how many small companies have gone under after that? in chicago, i see more and more and more small businesses closing their doors, leaving their storefronts vacant. it is happening here ALL OVER our city of about 2.5 million people! and, it is happening ALL OVER all of the big cities and everywhere in our country, isn’t it?

so, do you think that we will have no federal taxation to offset research and development, as well as implementation of perfected green energy machines? how so?

what will you tell your senator? what will you do to prevent the house of reps and your state’s politicians from pulling the wool out from under you?

How to open a power unit for Bissell Big Green Clean Machine? 4 unconventional deep well fasteners..big pain.?

My Bissell Big Green Clean Machine of 10 yrs. has low suction yet motor is fine. Tubes are clear, motor rpm fine. No air leaks anywhere. I think the impeller may be fouled with fiber or dog hair. How then to open the stupid power unit? There are 4 holes in the gray plastic module, deep welled to ensure the poor customer great difficulty opening it, forcing you to get it "serviced" for megabucks. Shining flashlight down a hole I see a metalic "something" like a rivet..not a slot or phillips screw, allen, hex bolt etc.. How do I open that power unit? I don’t want to pay some cluck 35 bucks to clean dog hair out of an impeller.
RE: the suggestiong to visit the FAQ link on www.bissell.com, FAQ didn’t have any info on disassembly of the power unit. I think Bissell wants to make more $$ by their service techies cleaning out impeller fans rather than actually help a client who lives literally in a 3rd world country WITH NO TECHIES and NO PARTS to fix their machine. I tried the FAQ den before I posted this question. Thanks anyway..anyone have the correct answer? Thanks
I called a repairman, together disassembled the power unit. Doesen’t screw together, it pops apart held by 4 plastic clips inside. A medium flat screwdriver pries out & up the green parton from the green half to loosen the clips underneath. Careful, might break it if too much force. Once apart the fan outlets were plugged w/ dog hair. Taking the metal unit out first was a trick, then we took apart the 2 part metal "can" (has 2 sections) by forcebly prying it open, partially bending the rims (which we hammered back into shape before reassembly). 10 years of gunk & dog hair…reassembled the can halves, then the rest. paid BUT I WATCHED. Dog hair got there because wifey didn’t use the removable disklike sponge filter (which she lost) & flotsom stuck in the port in the exit of the power unit summarily clogging the exit vents which are small..1/8th inch by 1/2 inch. MORAL: USE THAT ROUND DISKLIKE SPONGE FILTER ALWAYS. If you lose it make another out of similar sponge.

Isn’t it hypocrytical to preach about being “green” & conserving energy but not to practice it yourself?

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/01/29/us/politics/29whitehouse.html?_r=2&partner=rss&emc=rss

Imagine all the increased emissions caused by the coal fired power plants needed to supply the extra energy to the White House. Would the environmentalists be better off with someone in the White House from say, Alaska? :^)

the green power light on my amp turned off after a day. is it the ground wire or wut?

i took a small wire and touched it from the power to the remote without the ground and the green light comes on then. but even when the green light isnt on how do the dancing lights on the amp go? Please Help!!!
i have a good ground hooked up and my remote wire is hooked up to the amp from the back of the radio. everything is hooked up it just wont come on. i heard u could try taking a small wire from the remote part of the amp and touch it to the power part and it would turn on and sure enough it did but as soon as i take it off it turns off. i made a jumper between the two to keep it on but when i plug in the subs the amp turns off and the subs give off very little power.
