What is the “change” I see on company stocks?

On Yahoo! Finances for every stock there is of course the "change" which is sometimes green or red or pointing up or down. What does this mean exactly?

When stocks go up and down from the previous day’s trades.

The change in price since the last completed trade, if the it is red it indicates that the price has gone down since the last trade, if it is green it indicates that the price has gone up since the last trade.

That’s the day change. There’s one for dollar amount and one for percentage amount compared to the previous day.
