    While there may be some local regulations (only you can check this out; I can’t), the primary regulation of lasers in the U.S.A. is federal, though the FDA.

    A green laser pointer (class IIIA laser) is about the most powerful you can get without special licensing, and is not a toy. A company I used to work for used 10 and 20 watt lasers in products, and only specially trained experts were allowed anywhere near them. They scared the crap out of me…
