Why is Bush’s ranch house so “Green” as in energy-conserving?

I think this is good, and forward-looking, but it's so inconsistent with his energy policies and the Republican mantra that there's no global warming.

What's really strange, is Bush's rach is much much more eco-friendly than the hypocritical eco-champion Gore.

Forget Global Warming, using energy conserving utilities, like soloar panels and stuff save you money on bills. Even the rich gotta save where they can.

It makes good economical sense to conserve energy.

I didn't know it was. How nice for him that he can afford that. Or a house in general. Unlike over half of America who are getting poor under him.

No it's not .It is the perception of our policies that are mistaken.

Why are you associating the "green-ness" of his home with global warming? He lives in Central Texas. It is hot starting mid-spring and going all the way through September, usually into October. There can be some pretty serious cold snaps too.

I have installed double-paned windows, a front-loading washer, a more energy-efficient A/C, and up-graded my attic insulation. My home is more efficient, but I didn't do it because of global warming.

Geography probably has something to do with it. It takes a heck of a lot less heating oil to keep a Texas Ranch warm compared to someone like Gore's house in Tennessee.

While AlGore is talking the talk, Bush is walking the walk.

Since The President Took Office, The Federal Government Has Invested $12 Billion To Develop Cleaner, Cheaper, And More Reliable Energy Sources. Contrary to what people believe, Bush does care about the enviornment. Check out the link below:

Texas has a fairly intelligent program for home improvements that benefit the environment. I'll wager the program offers a tax advantage as well.

After watching a number of episodes of the current This Old House, shot in the state capital of Austin, the process is fair and promotes real world changes in uses of energy and materials.

It's hard to get the full five star rating for the best use of materials, recycling, efficiency and alternative energy use.

It's no surprise that the houses tend to be more comfortable to live in as well.

Bush puts up, but Gore won't shut up.
